Dorset Employment Unit Coordinator

(Closing Date: 5pm Wednesday 14th October 2020)

Hours: 37 Hours per week (Flexible)
Salary: £ 25,724 (per annum)
Location: Covering the Dorset Council area
Term: Temporary Contract: Initially to 31st March 2021
Start Date: Immediate Start

Citizens Advice in Dorset are setting up a new Employment Unit to provide high quality, specialist employment advice and representation to the residents of the county. This is an exciting new joint initiative between the four Local Citizens Advice in the Dorset Council area: Central, Bridport, East Dorset and Purbeck. It will bring together a team of specialist paid staff and volunteers who will deliver employment advice and training.

We require a Coordinator who will be a highly motivated individual capable of getting a new initiative off the ground, working with a wide range of people and delivering the aims of the project. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of managing projects and ideally experience of delivering training. They will also need to be flexible in their approach.

The role will require you to set up the new Unit by designing and implementing all necessary referral processes and protocols. In setting up the project the candidate will need to liaise with all Dorset Council Citizens Advice to effectively communicate the model and ensure a joined up service for the benefit of clients. The role will also require elements of training delivery.

Project and Evaluation Manager

Hours: 10 Hours per week (Flexible)
Salary: £ 7,800 (actual)
Location: Covering the Dorset & South Somerset area
Term: October 2020 to June 2022
Start Date: Immediate Start

Citizens Advice Central Dorset has been successful in securing funding from the Access to Justice Foundation to set up a new Legal Support to Litigants in Person (LSLIP) project. The project is a partnership between the Citizens Advice in wider Dorset, including Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole, South Somerset Citizens Advice, Dorset Race Equality Council and Shelter.

The project will run until June 2022 and will focus on preparing and supporting clients who are faced with attending court in the subject areas of Housing, Family, Employment and Discrimination.

The role will involve developing and managing the overall project, establishing and running the project steering group, maintaining a relationship with partners in order to progress each strand and working with the funder and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to evaluate and report back on the success of different approaches. The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering multi-agency projects and will ideally have a background in advice.
